19th Anniversary of NLD Election Victory
The party of Myanmar democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi released doves and balloons at a ceremony on Wednesday marking the 19th anniversary of an election victory that was voided by the ruling junta.
Around 300 people gathered at the headquarters of the National League for Democracy (NLD) in Yangon, as the trial of their leader on charges of breaching her house arrest continued at a notorious prison in the city.

Burma’s Agricultural and Rural Development Bank, formerly known as “Myanma Agriculture Bank,” is a state-owned bank established during the socialist government of General Ne Win for the welfare of the country’s 80 percent population—Burmese farmers.
The bank aimed at promoting the life of the farmers in the rural area of the country and it provided opportunities for the farmers to be able to lend money from the government with very cheap interest rate. More…
